Unit Price respects your privacy. We are committed to transparency about what data we collect and how we use it. This app stores data locally on your device and uses minimal third‑party services only for advertising.
Data Collection
Unit Price does not collect personal information. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
All calculations and comparisons happen locally on your device. Your price comparison data (items, prices, quantities) is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.
Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your device using secure local storage (SharedPreferences):
- App Settings: Currency symbol preference, preferred base units per measurement family, toggle settings (discount/tax fields)
- Custom Units: Any custom measurement units you create (e.g., “box”, “carton”) with their conversion factors
- Comparison History: Up to 50 saved price comparisons with optional notes (stored permanently until you delete them)
- App Usage Data: Launch count and conversion tracking (used only for showing rating/donation dialogs at appropriate times)
This data never leaves your device except for what is mentioned in the Third‑Party Services section below. You can delete all stored data at any time through Settings → Reset App Data.
Third‑Party Services
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)
Unit Price uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. This allows us to offer the app for free.
What AdMob may collect:
- Device information (device ID, operating system, screen size)
- Location data (general location based on IP address, if location permissions are granted)
- App usage data (interactions with ads)
- Advertising ID (which can be reset in your device settings)
How AdMob uses this data:
- To show you relevant advertisements
- To measure ad performance
- To prevent fraud
Your options:
- Opt out of personalized ads in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization)
- Reset your Advertising ID at any time
- If you prefer to support the app without ads, you can donate via the “Buy Me a Coffee” option in Settings

External URL Launches
The app may open external URLs in your browser for:
- Buy Me a Coffee (donation link)
- Google Play Store (for app rating)
These links are opened in your default browser. We do not track when you click these links or collect any data from these interactions.
Network Access
The app requires internet connection only for:
- Loading and displaying advertisements (via AdMob)
- Opening external donation and rating links (optional user actions)
All core functionality works offline. Price comparisons, unit conversions, and data storage do not require internet connection.
Data Security
All data stored by the app is kept locally on your device using your operating system’s secure storage mechanisms. We do not maintain servers or databases that store your information.
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- Delete data: Reset all app data at any time through Settings → Reset App Data. This will clear all preferences, custom units, and comparison history.
- Opt out of ads: Disable personalized ads in your device settings.
- Control advertising ID: Reset your Advertising ID at any time in device settings.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Children’s Privacy
Unit Price does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Any changes will be posted in the app and the updated date will be reflected at the top of this document.
